CBT Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Brisbane

Our caring and compassionate psychologists at our CBT Clinical Psychology Centre will treat a range of conditions and disorders.

Cognitive behaviour therapy at our Brisbane clinic is a focused approach to treatment. As a therapy, CBT is widely used to treat a variety of conditions and disorders. It can be broken down into two main aspects: behavioural therapy and cognitive therapy.

Behavioural therapy posits that as behaviour is learned it can be changed. Cognitive therapy is based on the theory that cognitions directly influence behaviours and emotions, and that behaviours and emotions also influence cognitions.

Essentially, CBT focuses on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, actions and physical sensations are all interconnected. Negative feelings and thoughts can snowball from minor issues to major problems, trapping you in a vicious cycle from which it seems like there’s no escape. The aim of cognitive behaviour therapy treatments is to help people who suffer from conditions, disorders and thought patterns which overwhelm them by breaking down problems which seem unmanageable into smaller parts that are more easily scrutinised, worked through and overcome.

At Brisbane Centre for Psychology, our compassionate and qualified clinical psychologists for CBT are conveniently located in Stafford Heights on the Brisbane Northside. We operate a caring clinic that serves as a ‘safe place’ for our patients that could benefit from CBT therapy in Brisbane.

What does CBT treat?

Our behavioural psychologists in Brisbane use CBT as it has been proven to be a highly-effective therapy worldwide.
