Psychologist – Contractor or Employee
(Clinical, Registered or Clinical Registrar)
Psychologists with an interest in Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT), veterans, defence personnel and first responders, complex trauma, or couples therapy are particularly encouraged to apply.
However, clinicians across all areas of interest are welcome, as we support a broad range of general and complex presentations.
The Role
- Providing psychological therapy to individuals, young adults, adolescents, couples and families, based on your area of interests
- Option to provide psychological assessments (ASD, ADHD, SLDs) across the lifespan—with support to build capacity in this area if desired
- Contractor or employee arrangements available
- Must be able to commit to a minimum 2 full client days, with 5-7 clients per day
- Must be willing to offer some evening sessions (latest 5:00pm/6:00pm) or early morning sessions (7:00am/8:00am)
- Option to work Saturdays if desired
- Medicare provider number eligible, AHPRA registered, with a minimum 2+ years post-registration experience
- ABN for contractor arrangement
Candidates With Experience In One or More of The Following Areas Are Highly Desired
- Training in use of a trauma-informed approach
- Experience working with complex trauma
- Experience working with Veterans, Defence Personnel and First Responders
- Experience working in relationships and/or couples therapy
- Experience or interest working in Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT)
- Experience in private practice setting

The Role & Essential Criteria
- Prior experience in reception and administrative roles
- Allied health or medical reception experience, including use of practice management software and Medicare billing, highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, professional communication style
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
- Capacity to work harmoniously within a team environment
- A calm, compassionate and client-centred approach
- A strong work ethic, enthusiasm and reliability
- High ethical standards and respect for confidentiality and sensitive information
- A high level of computer literacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and self-direct when required
- Availability to work 2–3 days per week
- Willingness to cover shifts when team members are unwell or have personal or study commitments
