Peta Maynard
Clinical Psychologist
Peta is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Peta is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
Peta is experienced in administrating a range of assessments, including assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Difficulties, and intelligence. Peta has formal training for ADOS-2 assessments and promotes a multidisciplinary approach for diagnostic assessment. She provides assessment from the age of 6 years and above.
Peta is passionate about building a trusting, and supportive therapeutic relationship; and strives to create a safe, warm, and relaxed environment for clients to explore and achieve their goals. Peta draws upon a range of therapeutic modalities based on the needs of the client. These include, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Evidence Based Emotional Freedom Techniques (EBEFT). Peta also utilises attachment theory, as well as play-based and creative therapy approaches.
Peta has experience supporting children, youth and adults from diverse backgrounds, and has gained experience from various settings, including foster care, child and family services, disability services, and corrections. Her main interest areas are anxiety, mood disorders, early childhood and complex trauma, attachment and relationship dynamics, low self-esteem and confidence issues, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders.
In her spare time, Peta enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, swimming, and going for walks.
